Let My Life Song Sing To You

Song for Sadie

A night to celebrate the life of Sadie Marie Redding (November 19, 1990-January 31, 2007) will be held at the Citizens Center of Lincolnton on Saturday, August 28, 2010.  Doors will open at 6:00pm, with celebration beginning at 7:00pm.  All proceeds will go towards the Sadie Marie Redding Scholarship Fund.  A donation will also be made to LifeShare of the Carolinas in memory of Sadie.

Funds will be raised through donations at the door, a silent auction, and by the sale of refreshments.  A concert will also be held, with musical performances by: New Sanctuary, Open Ember, Narrow Road, and special performances by Becky Beattie and Ashlie Kelley Link.  The purpose of this concert is to raise awareness about the importance of being an organ and tissue donor.  But, above that, it is important that everyone knows that through Christ, you can have eternal life.

What’s Up with PC Insurance?

PC Insurance Services

Many mobile home owners are getting the cold shoulder from their insurance company these days.  It seems that many companies have decided to no longer offer the coverage or have increased the premiums to the point that no one can afford it.  Even in the best of times mobile home dwellers have been treated like second class citizens by companies and agencies because their business did not generate the amount of premiums or commissions to make insuring them as lucrative as other insurance typically written.

Having started as a dealership agency and once owned by one of the largest mobile home sales dealerships in the country, PC Insurance Services has been writing insurance on mobile homes for nearly 20 years and sees no end in sight.  Manager Barbara Wood says that her agency personnel have always made manufactured homes their priority.  “We have developed a network of mortgage brokers, bankers and dealership sales people throughout the region to develop that business and we are considered the top go-to agency for manufactured home insurance.  Through the years we have developed relationships with several insurance companies writing mobile home insurance and can offer choices for coverage and options specific to the customer’s needs.”

In the last several years our country has experienced a lot of flooding in places that have never flooded before.  “I think everyone knows by now, or should, that a homeowner policy does not cover flood damage.  The only exception to that rule is the standard mobile homeowner policy.  The policy forms used by the mobile homeowner companies include flood coverage as a standard feature.  As a result many companies are getting rid of the mobile homeowner policies to avoid having to pay flood damage claims.”

“Another example of mobile homeowners being taken advantage of is the ‘insurance is with the loan’ game that lenders played for years.  Often times the insurance provided by the lender is several hundred dollars higher than what a standard mobile home policy would cost through an insurance agency.  The cost of that insurance is part of their monthly mortgage payment.  When people take the time to review their escrow account and compare insurance costs, they are shocked at how much money they can save.  One lady we wrote coverage for a few months ago was trying to find ways to cut costs, we saved her nearly $800 a year which reduced her mortgage payment by nearly $70 per month.  Usually we average around $200-$300 savings per year.”
