Some say fasting is a thing of the past.  Not so with Christian living.  If you pray for something, and are willing to let a meal go by, or just some food that you like, and your prayer is not for self gain, that is the kind of prayer your Lord wants to answer.  Never just say a prayer and expect to hear some good came of it.  Prayer with Jesus is okay when all the conditions are met.  First, you must believe and know that you are right with your Lord.  He only answers a sinner prayer for himself.  On other thing is, if you have doubts of unbelief while you are praying, you might as well get in a chair and try to fall asleep.  Some do set down and write a prayer, then pray and think all the time that your God may answer your request.  To us mortals, it is always up to a true and living God whether to answer or not.  You can know by your Lord’s action back to you, and it does not have to be out loud.  That is His choice.  Never try to get up an argument with your Lord.  That is very unwise.  Many things have happened to people who are foolish enough to try that.  Good day, good prayer time.

Some ask the question “How can I know these parables and the truth that goes with them?”  When all the time, if they would just settle down and read the right Bible slowly, and trust in the Lord, all their answers will appear before them in the word of God.   The first question to always answer, is have you felt the price of being reborn?  Meaning have you stepped out of the world, and into the arms of a loving Savior, named Jesus of Nazareth?  If so, then you have a born again soul that He can teach what is right.  And, you can understand and lead others to Jesus.  That is when you can live in real happiness.  If you are a Christian reading this, have you tried to lead someone else to follow Jesus as it is called?  Jesus grants salvation to those who tell about the goodness in following Jesus.  No reborn person is ashamed of His Savior.  He likes to brag on Him, with a big smile to back it up.  If what you say, you cannot back up with a big smile, it would be better to just keep your mouth closed.  There is a big lesson to learn in that.

That is not just a question to lay aside easily and forget.  Yet, the Lord Himself does take care of it until we become of ability to make our own decisions.  Then right from wrong shows up, and we get to make the decision.  Our maker helps us make the right decision because the price has been paid by Him that day on the cross.  Our place is to accept and read and believe.  As the saying goes, take it with you.  The day will come around that you will want to make a decision to follow after Jesus’ ways.  You don’t have to tell Him.  He knows, and comes into you with a saving spirit that you never had before.  A spirit that separates you from the devil, for good.  And the joy really comes when you confess what has happened to you in public and your Lord and Savior grants you salvation.  With the happiness and joy that you now possess, you are not the same person to the dying world that you will come up on.  You read and study your King James Bible.  All other Bibles come from the KJV, but with a man’s opinion, and that is not good.  Get the red letter edition, and stay with it.  All the answers that you need to know are in that Bible and you can trust your soul with it.  Jesus gave His life for it, so that you can find a way to Him in Heaven.  Trust and obey are the keys that unlock the way to heaven, and your savior lets you control that.

THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD.  Meaning one puts all confidence in God, not in oneself to be lost like a sheep with no shepherd.  I SHALL NOT WANT.   This is positive faith, never doubting.  HE MAKETH ME TO LIE DOWN IN GREEN PASTURES.  Notice who is the leader, and David obeys his master.  HE LEADETH ME BESIDE STILL WATERS.  And, notice how everything is calm when David arrives.  Now, verse four: YEA THOUGH I WALK THROUGH THE VALLEY OF THE SHADOW OF DEATH, I WILL FEAR NO EVIL, FOR THOU ART WITH ME; THY ROD AND THY STAFF THEY COMFORT ME.  David was not afraid to go through the valley for the shadow of death.   Keep in mind, when in war, David was always out front as a leader.  Remember, when they went to war back then, it was hand to hand combat with whatever was given to you or whatever you brought along.  Sure, they were all awakened to what was at stake, both God’s country and their own lives.  Then God says to “fear no evil”, meaning fear not the Devil, you have a God better to serve, that can defeat the devil and all his cohorts.  Just keep in mind that the Devil, as we know hi, was once an angel who rebuked the true God.  When this change occurred, our God could have taken away all of Lucifer’s powers.  Isaiah 14:11-12 says “Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee. How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations?”    Psalm 23, Verse 5: THOU PREPAREST A TABLE BEFORE ME IN THE PRESENCE OF MINE ENEMIES.  Not just the bread of life, but life itself with blessings.  THOU ANOINTEST MY HEAD WITH OIL, MY CUP RUNNETH OVER.  And then David of old says something that we should say with a Lord, who did so much for us to save us from the Devil’s hands.  We all have heard someone say “I will help you any way I can, just call on me.”  Jesus knew this about our living soul, and that is why He paid the price for our soul to not go where the fire dyeth not down.  Jesus could not stay unquenched and smile because you and the writer do not have to go there.  We will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.  Amen.

Freedom From Sin

Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away.  Behold all things that become new.  Now, let’s see what we are writing about.  We are not talking about you believing that there is a God from all the preaching going on.  We are talking about a reborn saint of the Lord, Jesus Christ; as God was in a person named Jesus of Nazareth who paid the price for your sins to be forgiven.  A part of the one who forgave you is in you.  You are dead to sin, which means you cannot practice in sin any longer.  Paul says “What shall we say then?  Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? God forbid.  How shall we, that we are dead to sin, live any longer therein?” Romans 6-11 says likewise “reckon ye yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ, our Lord.”  Just one sin is not permitted to go into heaven, where everything is holy.  Some yet say they sin a little every day, and still live a Christian life, then at night they say “Lord forgive me of my sins,” putting to practice a mistaught life.  Both are held responsible by a true and living God.  Live righteous, and seek Holy Ghost baptism.  That is what Jesus asked the Father to let you have after His death.  Go out of the sinning life.  All sin is of the devil, mistake of the mind with figures is not a sin coming at you both ways short and long.  Your loving, saving Lord does expect you to correct it, or else He would.  He has a right to expect it out of you, as you belong to Him.  Your soul is in your keepi8ng.  What will you do with it?  Romans 6-14 says “for sin shall not have dominion over you; for you are not under the law, but under grace.”  You are not bound to any one thing, not even sin, and you have to choose with your own mind the way you want to live.  God first, the other man second, me third. That is a life your Lord is proud of, and He is waiting in Heaven for you.

What You Do Now; Is It By Grace or Is It By Law?

Grace means volunteer love and this is what pleases your Savior!  Search your Bible and you will find  that to be true.  If you are on your way home and come past a friend in need, you don’t stop and ask yourself if there is a law that says for me to help this person.  No, you are showing back to Jesus what kind of a person you are.  You help out whenever you can and on down the road of life you can travel with the smile of satisfaction of helping your fellow man.  This brings out a smile from your Savior’s face, too.  Don’t worry about the things that pop up in life. Who is to say that those things don’t happen for a reason.  Cycled in by your Savior.  You can find out just what kind of a servant you are living under the trusted love of a Savior who set the way for all of His family that day on Mount Calvary.  Look at it as a Debt set for us to follow and to come together in Heaven.

THE GIFT OF HEALING,WHICH IS JESUS’ CHOICE

Jesus chose some of the disciples and gave them the gift of healing.  He can do the same thing for one of His chosen few today, and no doubt He does.  One thing He must see in His chosen is that they will be able to take criticism and not try to fight back.  Good must always come first.  Love must be the head of the corner, and love that knows no evil, as a return favor.  A true and living God never makes a mistake in His calling, and He never will.  Oh yes, some college can encourage by learning and teaching the teacher’s way of life, and can be mistaken as a teacher or a preacher too.  When this does happen, there is a hold up in everything as far as depth in the Bible study is, and the Lord is not pleased at all.  Jesus then appoints someone to lead, and the way of the Lord moves on another day.  I have seen in happen a couple times in my life span of ninety-two years and county.  Now, I want to put in one of my beliefs, and that is our Lord and Savior has a job for each one of us to do while here on planet earth, and who knows a place in heaven with different titles and responsibilities.  One thing that is true, is that there will be some kind of work done in heaven, or why would there be a hereafter?  Give this a deep thought.

Your Growth, Will It Be Taken Away?

How you manage it with the Lord is what counts with Him.  Luke 19-26 says “For I say unto you, that everyone that hath shall be given, and from he that hath not.  Even that which he hath shall be taken away from him.”  Whatever you have, many or few, are you willing to share it with the neighbor next door, who is in desperate need?  The truth is if we take time to look around us, we can always find someone in need of something to eat or wear.  Before you thought about this, and now you have to carry out the orders from above.  Now a warning.  Don’t let this slip up on you as an individual because God, as your Savior, knows all things that are going on in the mind, for good or for bad.  When you see a child that’s hungry with nothing to eat, you go on trial, ad your Lord finds out just how true to Him you are.  We are all in a war with our adversary.  I challenge myself every day, especially when shopping, to bring up a smile to get a smile out of the young and old. The other day while in a store, I found an empty dry cup.  I picked it up, and over by me was a boy three to four years of age.  I put in a couple pieces of money, said some kind words to the boy, and gave the cup to him.  His mother and father told him to say thanks, and he did, with a big smile.  I had one too, along with his mother and father.  I do things like that often.  It is my pleasure, and it pleases the Lord.  No doubt he smiled too.

ARE YOU SEASONED WITH THE SALT OF JESUS?

His salt is His spirit, and we can be a witness to that being true only after we have received forgiveness of our sins, and after we are redeemed out of this sinful world that we were born into. In possessing His spirit, we belong to Him. It is a redeeming spirit that only He can put inside you. And, it is put in as a trust that you will share His teachings to others as a testimony. I now notice that we have a lot of different teaching and believing, sent just like the devil to slip in and throw us off track. As one said to me, “all you got to do is believe a little.” According to a King James Bible, I find no way that can be true to get into heaven. With Jesus as your Lord, it is all in or nothing doing. Coming through Jesus as your Lord, you can be redeemed as Abram was redeemed to Abraham the righteous. We today must be redeemed from sin to righteous by the cross of Jesus and His resurrection for us to come forth on the right appointed day. We all know and have been taught this. Let your mind drift back to all the tornadoes and floods. So much was destroyed, yet that is nothing compared to if you miss the resurrection. I was in a tornado cyclone that lasted fourteen days and nights. That was bad, yet nothing compared to missing the resurrection into heaven. And just think, we can make plans now for heaven by letting our Savior have His way with us.

Glory To God and May He Prosper

By Evangelist W.C. “Dub” Dellinger

Now He has one more redeemed soul to keep from returning back to old Satan.  Just think one step across the line, and our adversary, Satan, can laugh… laugh out loud.  When you feel that you lost something, you are in trouble.  What a testimony to have.  Get on line and stay on line.  Give it all over to your Savior.  He will take care of you, and the devil has to take a back seat.  Listen to the truth being sprayed all over the world in the name now of Christianity.  After the person who paid the price that day on Mount Golgotha.  With His life sacrificed, He came forth from the grave as a living testimony as to what can happen to each of His redeemed saints.  Many redeemed believers in this world today believe in different kinds of life and death, but only one can move you into where your God is.  His name is Jesus, and this was appointed unto Him by a true and living God with all authority.  He cannot abuse and be Lord of all.  Don’t forget that He demands the same from us because He has already paid the price.
