Historic Cleveland County Speedway 6/15/2012 – Racing Results

In The Shelby Composite Squadron/Civil Air Patrol – Good Old Days Series 30 Lap Feature it was Jason Ledford jumping into the early lead in the #75 Dodge Dart. Charging from the rear to the front to challenge was the 4x of Ryan Howard. The two battled for several laps with Howard getting the spot while Ledford fell off pace.  After a yellow came out for a stopped car the two lined up for a heated battle once again on the restart.  Ledford lost control in turn one and was struck by another car and was sent to the pits for the night.  That left Ken Side on the tail of Howard for the restart. Side had a great run going and stayed with Howard but didn’t have enough to get it done.  Howard recorded his second win of the season.  A close third was Chase Webb followed by Barry Powell, winner of the Ford heat and Kris Scelsi rounded out the top five.

Note: Dennis Williams fell out of the Feature from rear end damage he sustained during his heat race.  Tim Sigmon also broke a rear end while leading his heat race and was unable to start the feature.  Rob “Spanky” Thompson was involved in a serious tangle with the #44 of Bobby Reed.  Spanky ended up on the front straight wall.  Both cars were badly damaged.  Thompson was done for the night and Reed was able to get his car repaired and raced it to a 7th place finish in the Good Old Days Feature.

In the Dirt Race Cars it was Pole sitter Tim Sigmon running off with the lead with the #27 of Blane Huffman in tow.  Huffman was never a serious challenge and Sigmon easily scored the win.  They were followed by Dillon Sigmon, Kris Scelsi and Mark Towell.

Chase Web in the $ car exchanged the lead almost every lap in the Fair 4’s Feature with Isaac Sosebee .  Chase came out on top as the fans cheered coming right down to the checkered flag.

In the New Rear 4’s Feature it was #21 Shenna Alexander claiming her first ever win followed by # 5  JJ Powell and Lisa Koperski  “ The Professor” in the #66.

We will be back in action this Friday night with another action packed Good Old Days Series, DRC’S, Fair 4’s and the Rear 4’s.  Grandstand tickets have been raised to $7 and box seats $10.
