9/14: CAROLINA FEDERAL CREDIT UNION 3rd ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP GOLF TOURNAMENT at the Cherryville Golf and Country Club.  Entry Fee is $50.00 per person (Includes Lunch). Captain’s Choice Format. Cash Prizes for 1st and 2nd Place Teams! Prizes for Closest To Pin and Longest Drive!  $5.00 Mulligan’s are available at Registration (limit 2 per person).  Registration starts at 11:00am, Lunch at 11:30am, and Shotgun start at 12:00 noon.  Limited to 52 golfers, first come, first serve basis.  Individual golfers will be teamed up at registration.  Make checks payable to Carolina Federal Credit Union and mail to 1200 E. 10/02: THE HISTORY OF GASTONIA & GASTON COUNTY, NC-A VISION OF AMERICA AT ITS BEST will be presented by author, Robert A Ragan.  This free public event for adults and teens will be presented at the Gaston County Public Library Auditorium, 1555 East Garrison Blvd., Gastonia at 2:00pm.  Following the event, copies of his book will be available for purchase and author autograph.  Info: 704-868-2164/dial 4.

10/4: KIDS’ CONCERT, live performance by ROGER DAY for school-age children & their adults, beginning 4:00pm at the Gaston County Public Library Auditorium, 1555 E Garrison Blvd, Gastonia.  Roger Day will also present Kids’ Concerts at the following locations: Dallas Branch Library, Oct. 4, 10:30am; Mount Holly Branch Library, Oct. 5 @ 10:30am; and Union Road Branch Library, Gastonia, Oct. 6 @ 4:00pm.  Please call performance site for info, as well as organized group reservations
