CPR CLASS SCHEDULE (You have to prepay & register before the day of class in order to attend):  Sept. 2, Adult/AED CPR; Sept. 7, Infant/Child CPR; Sept. 16, First Aid; Sept. 21, Adult/AED CPR; Sept. 30, Infant/Child CPR.  Classes held 6:00pm each night.  Call 704-487-8594 to register.

WHAT’S UP NEXT WEEK & BEYOND

9/11: Pregnancy Resource Center’s ANNUAL WALK FOR LIFE, 9:30am at Bethel Baptist Church, 606 S Dekalb St, Shelby.  There will be games and special activities for kids, Christian music and free food/drinks for those who participate.  This event allows individuals, families and churches within the community to participate in the life saving work of the Pregnancy Resource Center of Cleveland County.  All proceeds go to fund the mission, vision and goals of the center.  Contact 704-487-4357 to get info on how to participate.  Or, visit their website at www.prccc.org.

9/14: Fundraising FASHION SHOW BENEFITTING CHILDREN’S HOMES OF CLEVELAND COUNTY hosted by Lynn Spangler and Etcetera, Inc. Clothing Line, 2:00pm in the Epworth Building at Aldersgate United Methodist Church.  Tickets are $10 and can be purchased by calling Shelly Stinchcomb at 704-484-2558.  Dessert, Coffee and Tea will be served.

9/21: MEMORY BEARK WORKSHOP at Hospice Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby.  Participants will have the opportunity to make a teddy bear out of a loved one’s shirt or other article of clothing.  Children are welcome if accompanied by an adult.  Please RSVP to 704-487-4677, ext. 166 if you plan to attend.

10/02: PIE BAKING CONTEST at the Cleveland County Fair.  Entries will be accepted 9:00am-11:00am in Dorton Hall.  Judging will begin at 11:30am.  There will be two divisions, Adult and Junior.  All school age children will be in the Junior Division, and anyone out of high school must enter the Adult Division.  There are also two categories: Fruit pies and Nut pies.  One entry may be made in each category.  For additional info, contact Director, Cathey Noell.  E-mail: foodiegirl82555@aol.com or phone: 704 322-3092.  Or, you can contact the Cleveland County Fair office phone number @ 704 487-0651.

10/07: The Cleveland County Fair is proud to present the NATURALLY BREATHTAKING NATURAL BEAUTY PAGEANT for youngsters. The Pageant will be held on Thursday night, October 7th at 7:00pm in Weather’s Arena.  No pageant experience is needed. Attire is a tee-shirt and denim pants. No pageant attire is needed. You may decorate your tee-shirt if you wish.  Makeup is allowed but not required.  All contestants will receive an embroidered sash, tiara and great gifts for just participating. Registration will be held at 5:00-7:00pm outside of the Arena or you may enter early by mailing your entry to:  Naturally Breathtaking Beauty Pageant, 235 Bob White Run, Salisbury, NC 28147.
